FAQ
1. Do I need to change my phone number?
A: No. You will keep your numbers and be billed by BT for
the line rental on them.
2. What if my lines are with a cable provider such as Telewest?
A: Our call reduction system only works on BT lines. Cable
companies are often cheaper than BT for most calls but we
are cheaper even than them. It may be worth considering switching
back to BT to generate the massive savings that Fire Comms
can make for you.
3. I already have a discount package with BT
A: And how much extra do you pay for the "discount"
package? Our prices are cheaper than most BT packages. Higher
users are offered better rates by BT and we, in turn, can
negotiate prices.
4. Will there be any interruption to my service?
A: No. The changeover will be seamless. You will simply begin
to receive lower bills from Fire Communications for your calls.
5. What about the quality?
A: Your calls will be carried over what is known as Tier 1
carriers. These all have the same quality as BT lines, in
some cases better. In fact, some calls will be carried on
BT lines but at their wholesale rate.
6. How will you bill me?
We will bill you monthly with a fully detailed printed bill.
7. Can I pay by direct debit?
A: Yes. We can only accept accounts paid by direct debit.
8. Can I put multiple numbers on one account?
A: Yes.
9. I have Broadband ADSL, can I save money on those calls?
A: Yes. Broadband carried over BT lines splits the wire so
that you can carry the Internet information and voice calls
at the same time. We will save you money on the voice calls.
10. I use the line a lot for the Internet, will that affect
the service?
A: No. However, please let us know if you have an 0845 surf
anytime style package
11. My lines are ISDN, does it matter?
A: No. You can save on ISDN lines just as you can with analogue
lines.
12. We have a phone system in our office, can you still save
us money?
A: Of course. We may need to come to your office to make some
changes to the phone system but these will take a short time
and not cause any disruption.
13. Do you only take business customers?
A: No. We can take residential customers too. Some clients
like to include calls from their homes in their Fire Comms
business phone bill and we can organise that.
14. I have diverts, call minder and other network services.
Will that be affected?
A: This need not cause a problem but you must let us know
so that we can ensure there is no disruption.
15. We already have cheaper bills with another company
so why would I consider Fire Comms?
A: Because we will be cheaper. In some cases, very cheap rates
are available through other companies but the call quality
with those is very low.
16.
, what happens to the little boxes hanging out
of wall at the moment
A: We do not use such dialler boxes. We either reprogramme
phone systems or use a method known as Carrier Pre Select
to make sure you get cheaper calls. There is no additional
hardware at your premises.
17. Can you help us save money on calls in any other way?
A: If you make a significant number of calls to mobiles (more
than £100 per month) from an office then fixed mobile
terminals may help further boost savings. We also offer very
economical 0870, 0845, 0800 and 0906 numbers. We charge no
monthly fee and some numbers can actually generate you money
when people call them.
